Title Jacket
Date ca. 1940
Description 1 baby jacket is in a fine-weight plain weave structure overall of wool yarns. The warp and weft color is white. All edges are bound in pastel pink silk satin ribbon, with additional ribbon forming tie at center front neck. The jacket has short seamless sleeves, a jewel neck, and is open at center front. There are floral embroideries down center front consisting of pastel pink rosettes with medium pink centers and light green leaves. There is a fabric retail label sewn into interior at center back neck reading "Franklin Simon's Fifth Avenue New York." A manufacturers tag is sewn into one interior side seam with maker's name and location and fiber content. The jacket was made by Julius Berger of Newark, NJ.
