The marble sheet has a round depression in its middle and two holes for scale posts. The two posts hold two shallow brass pans. In the very front of the base is a small metal knob.
Notes Came in with 1991.20.62 Anvil. The University of Kentucky began collecting in 1957 for the Kentucky Life Museum, an endeavor to "provide a permanent place for the hundreds of articles that have had a bearing upon the way people in Kentucky lived and worked..." Eventually, Waveland entered the Kentucky State Park System and was reinterpreted as a house museum. These artifacts were transfered as part of that reinterpretation.
