Description This is a chromolithograph on paper based on the drawings by J. J. Audubon's White Fronted Goose from the Bien Edition of "Birds of America." The image depicts two brown, grey and black geese on a green, shell-strewn bank with yellow grass in the background. The left bird is both standing and looking over at the sitting right bird pruning its wing feathers. The upper left corner reads, "No. 14-1." and the upper right corner reads, "PLATE 380." The lower left corner reads "Drawn from Nature by J. J. Audubon, F. R. S., F. L. S." The Middle legend reads "White-fronted Goose, Lath./ ANSER ALBIFRONS, Bechst./ 1, Male. 2, Female."
Notes John James Audubon was born in 1785 and died in 1851. Julies Bien was born in 1826 and died in 1909.
