Description This is a commercially prepared carpenter's tool chest. The corners are reinforced with screwed-on sheet iron. The chest has recessed swivel-out wrought iron handles on the sides, as well as a recessed brass pull on the front of the lid. There is a tongue on the top edges of the body which fits into a groove on the lower edges of the lid. There are two cutouts in the front for missing locks. There is also a link chain mounted in rings inside. The interior is divided into compartments on the left. Dados and screw holes indicate removal of other compartments.
Notes Collected by the donor from antique stores, barns, etc. in southern Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky over the last thirty years.
