Description This joiner plane has a beechwood stock. It has a closed handle behind the bed and a rounded heel. There is an horizontal groove cut in all four vertical edges. It has a wide shavings aperature and a standard wedge with cutout for screw on capped irons.
Notes A jointer was 24-36" long, used to make the finishing passes on the long straight edges of the wood pieces preparatory to joining them. Collected by the donor from antique stores, barns, etc. in southern Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky over the last thirty years.
