Description This is a campaign button for R. P. Stoll. The button is a celluloid type process with a sepia tone headshot photo of Stoll printed on paper. Stoll is shown looking to his right and wearing a white collared shirt, dark-colored tie, dark-colored vest and suitcoat. The front has an inscription at the top that says "R.P. Stoll", and at the bottom "For Congress". The backing has a straight copper stickpin attached to the rim of the tinplate back.
Notes Richard Pindell Stoll of Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, was a Republican delegate to the Republican National Convention from Kentucky in 1880, 1884 and 1896 (alternate) and 1900. He died in 1902.
