Description This object is a delegate badge commemorating the 1908 Democratic National Convention, which was held in Denver, Colorado. The pin back is brass and features an American flag on the left and right, as well as a rectangle with "DELEGATE" stamped in it. "DENVER / JULY / 1908" is printed on banners above and below the rectangle. Below the pin back is a vertically striped red, white, and blue silk ribbon. The ribbon is gathered at the bottom where it attaches to an eagle-shaped medal. Banners surround the eagle, with "DEMOCRATIC / NATIONAL CONVENTION" stamped on them. The back of the medallion features a maker's mark which reads: "GREENDUCK CO. / CHICAGO / MAKERS / A.C. SALLEE, EVANSVILLE, IND."
Notes The 1908 Democratic National Convention was hosted by the city of Denver, Colorado. The delegates voted for presidential nominee William Jennings Bryan, and vice presidential nominee John W. Kern.
