Description This oval bust portrait depicts Mrs. James Taylor (Keturah Moss). She is pictured seated (facing left) wearing a black dress, ruffled white blouse, and white cap with lappets. She is also wearing a black neck tie with an oval golden brooch. The paintings is in a gilded plaster oval frame with egg and cup, oak leaf, and a rope like pattern.
Notes Mrs. James Taylor, maiden name Keturah Moss, was born 1773 and died in 1867. Bancroft was born in 1828 and died in 1857. The file indicates the painting was restored in October 1973, the canvas was cut and remounted on canvas.
