Description This side bead plane has a beechwood stock. The top of the heel is rounded and there is a shelf on the right. There is an open bed on the right and a standard blade and wedge. There is a side bead molding profile and boxed with boxwood insert.
Notes Collected by the donor over the last 30 years from barns, storage sheds, and antique stores in north central Kentucky and probably southern Indiana and Ohio as well. Truman J. McMaster (1797-1880) made planes at Auburn prison using convict labor under the contact system 1825.29.
