Description This newsclipping probably from an illustrated magazine, depicts an apocryphal story from James Watt's youth, was orginally from a woodcut. A young man sits on an upholstered chair before a fireplace holding a pair of tongs over the spout of a tea kettle. The room is cluttered and two women look on from behind the chair. A dog sits before the hearth. Rudd Sc and J.H. engraved in central bottom area of image.
Notes James Watt's was born in 1736 and died in 1819.
