This is a black leather boot that has been hand-sewnand made in a left-right pair. There are twill straps on the inside, one has blue selvage and the other is wider and plain. There is a paper label inside.
Notes on the shoe read, right shoe; 1840-50; stitched; welted; lacing holes (may or may not be original); lined; angled cuban or military heel; flesh side of leather out; three piece upper; iron tacks secure layers of heel; punch decoration on heel; sewn-in undersole.
