Description This is a piece of coal that has been sculpted into Bible. The sculpture has a cover, spine, and inset where the pages should be. The cover has two inset carving. The first is a square with "Holy Bible" carving in relief. The second is a ribbon with "1897" carving in relief. The spine has a rectangle with "Holy Bible" carved in relief. The back has to name plates carved in relief. The first reads "Mrs R.L. Hays Presented By." The second reads "Mrs Bety. Harrison Chenoa, K.Y."
Notes This was exhibited in the Kentucky Building of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, informally known as the 1904 World's Fair, in St. Louis, MO.
