Description In the foreground there is a pond and field in Keene, Kentucky. In the background there is a wooden fence intersecting with a stone fence with houses and outbuildings surrounded by trees. There is a moon behind the tree line and reflected in the pond. The house is red and the outbuildings are white.
Notes In Arthur Jones 1976 book, 'The Art of Paul Sawyier,' he notes the diary of Rose Stoddard of Cincinnati, Ohio, documents that Sawyier came to Kentucky from New York in October of 1916 to paint scenes of Dr. J. Leslie Davis' native Keene, Kentucky.
