Description This is a wooden (cherry?) fence block with pistol grip. There is a heavy blot of varnish on the handle. The stem is inserted into a hole perpendicular to the block, which is secured by a brass thumbscrew through the bottom of the block. There is an iron cutter in the right side of the stem, parallel to the block. It is secured by several brads and cut nails. This was hand made as indicated by saw marks on the block.
Notes Collected by the donor over the last 30 years from barns, storage sheds and antique stores in north central Kentucky and probably southern Indiana and Ohio as well.
