Description This is a heavy wrought iron flatter with an octagonal hammering face tapering out to a square head. The head has cutouts in the neck and has beveled corners. There is an oval eye with a curved handle. The handle has a hanging hole in end.
Notes An anvil tool used on hot metal to smooth out hammer marks etc. It is positioned on the workpiece and struck with a hammer.
