|Description||This violin has a wood body stained a medium brown. There are S curve cutouts in the sound board. The bridge is made of light colored wood and there is an ebony tailpiece and fingerboard. There are four ebony pegs with flattened handles. There is a scroll at the top of the neck. A hard rubber rest is attached at the bottom. There is a wooden case with matel latches. It is lined with red plush fabic on the inside. It has a black velvet rest for the top of the violin. There is also a brown wooden bow.|
|Notes||A late 19th century European copy of a Stradivarius original. By family tradition, the "second" violin of concert violinist George W. Smith. According his sister, Willanna Hampton Smith, George Smith "toured the state" playing this violin at age twelve.|
