Description This is a Pat Paulsen presidential campaign pin back button made by the celluloid process. It has a white background, with a sketch of an American eagle bearing a red and blue striped shield, and a black and white photo of Pat Paulsen's head resting on the eagle's shoulders. There are three red stars in the lower right quadrant. The lower half of the button has blue and red text that reads, "PAT / PAULSEN / FOR PRESIDENT." The back of the button has a pin back closure comprised of a pin and clutch to secure the pin in place.
Notes Patrick Layton "Pat" Paulsen was a comedian who ran spoof presidential campaigns from 1968 through 1992 as part of his act. The donor worked in the local presidential campaigns of Republican Nelson Rockefeller in 1964 and Democrat Eugene McCarthy in 1968 in Louisville. This button is from his 1972 campaign.
