Description This map is a lithograph by Julius Bien & Co. of New York and is titled "Louisville and It's Defenses." It is from Series I, Vol. XLIX of the "Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies." It was commenced on August 1, 1864 and drawn by Rob G. Phillips from an original map compiled by G. B. Nicholson. It is a detailed map of Louisville and the immediate vicinity,showing streets, roads, railroads, ferries, topography, waterways, and defenses.
