Description Part (a) is the bodice of the dress. It is made from a fabric that is silk and has a money plant polychromatic pastel design. The bodice has a blue silk ribbon trim at the neck with leg-o-mutton short sleeves. There is a silk net lace hand stitched from the neck that covers the front of the bodice. It also has a white crepe inset at the neck with hand sewn clear glass seed beads. The bodice has a white silk lining and corset-like style hook-up. Part b) is the full long skirt of matching fabric with white silk lining and rough muslin underskirt. It is hand stitched at waistline with two large hooks to attach it to the bodice.
Notes Belonged to Olivia Procter Benedict (1868-1959), wife of Rev. Cleveland Benedict.
