Description This is a circular celluloid type political inauguration button made for Edwin P. Morrow and Thruston Ballard's 1919 gubernatorial and lieutenant gubernatorial inauguration. It has a black background with black and white portraits of Morrow and Ballard in the center. Above and below the portraits reads, "GOVERNOR AND LIEUT. GOVERNOR/INAUGURATION 1919", in white print. It has a paper backing located on the back with a manufacturing label that reads, "WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO./BUTTONS,/BADGES,/NOVELTIES/AND SIGNS/NEWARK, N.J.", in black print. There is also a union label printed on the paper backing. It has a stickpin located on the back.
Notes Morrow and Ballard defeated incumbent James D. Black in the 1919 gubernatorial election.
