|Description||This is a pair of Mayo style surgical scissors. The piece has two slightly curved blades held in place with a single screw. The piece is marked "WISS/ U.S.A." on the inside of the handles.|
|Notes||Used by Dr. William H. Gibson, grandfather of donor. Gibson graduated from University of Louisville Medical School in 1907. He returned home to Lerose in Owsley County to practise, later moving to Booneville in the 1920s. Gibson also owned a farm and was president of Farmers State Bank from 1931-1953.|
