The lower jaw is wrapped around main shaft and is adjusted by a collar which is attached to threads on the front and back of the frame. The width of both upper and lower jaws allows the tool to serve as monkey wrench on one side and a pipe wrench on the other. There is a slot in lower jaw on the pipe wrench side that accepts varying size teeth.
