Description This wooden moldboard turning plow has an octagonal main beam with two wrought iron bolts in the tip and a hole drilled horizontally. The beam is mortised and pinned into side of the left walking handle. A wooden moldboard support bar is mortised into the bottom of the beam and pinned to front of the moldboard with four randsomly spaced wooden pegs. The outer curl of the moldboard is pinned to the bottom of the right walking handle. The wrought iron plowshare support bar is bolted vertically through beam. An interesting wrought iron nut is threaded onto the top. The nut has an integral ring forged on top. The piece has a wrought iron share with minimal mold board and is held by its support bar as well as a strap which reaches back to the moldboard support and the left walking handle. Three round wooden braces support the piece between the walking handles.
Notes This plow was manufactured in 1795 by Mr. Arnold for Henry Land.
