|Description||This is a rectangular ceramic piece in black and white depicting Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. They are in the backgroud at the end of a path. The serpent is in the foreground on the same path looking in their direction. There are woods/jungle on both sides of the path. The piece is in a brown wood frame.|
This ceramic piece was part of what Kentucky received from the Merci Train in 1949.
The Kentucky Railway Museum in New Haven, KY has the Kentucky 40 & 8 car, part of the 49 such cars sent to the US after WWII as thanks from the people of France (the Merci Train) for all America did to assist them during the War and for the sacrifices of American soldiers from WWI and WWII who liberated France. The 40&8 cars were filled with gifts from the people of France and sent to the US. There were 50 cars one for each State and one for the District of Columbia and the US Territories.
