Description This is a common steel block plane. It is black enameled and the cutter is held at a low angle to the cast steel body. There is a striking button on the front. The handle is held in place by a horizontal pin. There is an adjustment screw on the underside of the handle that pivots the cutter on a fulcrum extending from the base of the body.
Notes Collected by the donor over the last thirty years from barns, storage sheds, and antique stores in north central Kentucky and probably southern Indiana and Ohio as well. Used for trimming across the grain on the end of a workpiece.
