Description This blood pressure device has a cotton tie-on arm band. There is a rubber bag sewn into wide end of the band and two black rubber hoses lead out of bag. One hose leads to a blood pressure meter, which is zinc plated copper with a glass cover and hanging ring. The other hose goes to a cutoff valve and a rubber hand pump.
Notes Used in an office in Cadiz; used by 5 doctors between 1894-1975; Donor uncertain who purchased this equipment. Homer Blane (1873-1918) set up the office with his father Henry. Dr. J. Lacy Hopson (1883-1926) followed Blane. The donor's father, Dr. John Futrell (1899-1974) and his brother Elias (1899-1979) practised there from 1927-1974.
