Description This is a bronze replica of a Congressional gold medal issued in honor of Isaac Shelby. The obverse has a bust image of Isaac Shelby with an inscription around the edges. The reverse has a relief image of a battle scene from the Battle of the Themes with inscriptions at the top and bottom.
Notes Bronze replica of a gold medal presented to Shelby by congress for distinguished bravery and good conduct in capturing the British army at the battle of the Thames, in upper Canada. The donor was a descendent of Shelby and said in a letter that she had this struck off for KHS at the US Mint.
