Description This is a cherry plaque with two bronze circular medallions. The top one is a profile of Daniel Beard. The name "Dan Beard" is etched into the lower right. The bottom medallion says "Courage/Loyalty/Honor" and at the bottom is a banner with a long rifle laid across it and a powder horn beneath it. There are three plaques on the left side. The top one reads "Cast of the original medal presented by Geoge D. Pratt for the committee to Daniel Carter Beard and dedicated by him to the boys of Kentucky at the governor's mansion Frankfort, KY June 10, 1932." The middle one reads "Organization Committee: Barron G. Collier/George D. Pratt/Charles Dana Gibson/Frank Presbrey/Gov. Gifford Pinchot PA/Gov. Flem D. Sampson KY/S. Keith Evans Chairman." The bottom plaque reads "First state court of Award: Dr. Scott D. Breckenridge/Mrs. E. H. Heller/ Rev. W.N. Briney/Roy C. Manchester/Justice Richard P. Dietzman/James H. Richmond/Gov. Ruby Laffoon, Chairman."
