Notes According to the donor this "mosaic pattern quilt was made by Martha Hannah McCalister. Martha Hannah was reared in Shelby County, Kentucky and attended Science Hill Academy for young women. It is now known as Wakefield Scearce Galleries. She was a member of the Hannah, Byrd and McMurty families that settled in early Shelby County. She married Thomas McCalister our great-grandfather of Louisville. This quilt was handed down to the oldest grandchild and I (Virginia McCalister) the last recipient have no heirs--thus the gift is made to the Kentucky History Museum."
