Description This large hook has a hardwood handle. The wrought iron hook is mortised through perpendicular to the handle. The hook has a square nut and washer on top, and a shank immediately below the handle. There is evidence of black and red paint on the handle.
Notes Uncertain usage. Either a large hook used to move heavy bulk items like crates and bales of hay, or an animal husbandry hook used in the slaughter or storage of animal carcasses.
