Description This white linen and cotton hand drawn nightgown has short cap sleeves made of cutwork trimmed with lace. The neckline is also make of cutwork trimmed with lace. The front of the nightgown gathers around a panel made of seven columns alternating gathered fabric and cutwork with a finished seam along the bottom. "N. A. Galt" is written below the front panel to the right side. Beneath the sleeves at the side seams there are triangular panels with interfacing on either side. There is hand stitching throughout.
Notes The nightgown was part of Norborne Alexina Galt's trousseau when she married Arthur Lee Robinson on January 16, 1868.
