Notes Old Waveland Card, "#3418. Receptacle for cobbler's tacks, brads, or nails, donated by Mr. Gentry McCauley, Morgan Street, Versailles, KY, June 6, 1966." Originally used on the Barkley Farm in Jessamine County." The University of Kentucky began collecting in 1957 for the Kentucky Life Museum, an endeavor to "provide a permanent place for the hundreds of articles that have had a bearing upon the way people in Kentucky lived and worked..." Eventually, Waveland entered the Kentucky State Park System and was reinterpreted as a house museum. These artifacts were transfered as part of that reinterpretation.
