Description This chromolithograph on paper is of the Carbonated Warbler and Yellow Red Poll Warbler from the Bien Edition of Audubon's Birds of America. The image on the left is of the Carbonated Warbler. No. 7-6, Plate 109. It depicts two yellow and black birds perched upon a may bush with tan and green berries. The legend at the bottom reads: "Drawn from Nature by J.J. Audubon, F,R,S. F,L,S. / Carbonated Warbler / Sylvia Carbonata / Male / May Bush or Service Vyrus Bobypium". The image on the right is of the Yellow Red Poll Warbler. No. 7-6, Plate 90. It depicts two brown and yellow birds that are chasing a beetle along in a wild orange tree with white blooms and buds. The legend at the bottom reads: "Chromolithy. J. Bien, New York 1860 / Yellow red poll Warbler / Sylvia Petechia / Male, 1. Young, 2. / Wild Orange." There are two signatures in ink on the back of this chromolithograph that read: "Bart A. Brown" and "Nina M. Visscher".
Notes Audubon was born in 1785 and died in 1851. Bien was born in 1826 and died in 1909.
