Description This mourning shawl is made from silk materials. It is entirely black, as is the embroidery. The embroidery begins in the lower left corner with five leaves splayed out. Two vines extend away from the leaves, one going up, one going right, stopping just shy of the center of their respective edges. These to vines are covered with regularly spaced leaves and flowers, and each has a large flower about a fourth of the way up. From the base of the five leaves another vine ungulates into a horseshoe shape capped with a flower. Inside the horseshoe there is a bouquet of flowers and leaves, with details resembling acorns at the bottom of the bouquet. From above the design eleven flowers are spaced evenly pointing toward the bouquet. The Shawl is finished with a hand stitched one inch hem.
