Description This scorper has a carved wooden handle and a wrought iron curved blade with sharply bent back tangs wedged into the handle.
Notes Collected by the donor over the last thirty years from barns, storage sheds, and antique stores in north central Kentucky and probably southern Indiana and Ohio as well.

Used by a cooper to level joints between staves inside a cask and for cleaning a fouled cask. Also commonly used to remove marks from casks and boxes.
