|Description||This scorper has a carved wooden handle and a wrought iron curved blade with sharply bent back tangs wedged into the handle.|
Collected by the donor over the last thirty years from barns, storage sheds, and antique stores in north central Kentucky and probably southern Indiana and Ohio as well.
Used by a cooper to level joints between staves inside a cask and for cleaning a fouled cask. Also commonly used to remove marks from casks and boxes.
