Description This julep cup is made of coin silver. It has banded rims on the lip and the base with slightly tapered sides. The maker's mark is on the bottom.
Notes Stuart Price Hemphill received the cup from his grandfather Lewis Hemphill of Jessamine County. Hemphill believed that the cup was won at a fair or horse show as a prize.

David Kinsey (1819-1874) was a Welsh born Cincinnati silversmith who worked with his brother Edward from 1840-1861, and alone from 1861-1870. The Kinsey's produced the bulk of the handmade holloware and flatware of Cincinnati of their time.
