|Description||This is as Sam Brown style KMI sword belt without the shoulder straps. It has a black leather exterior and brown leather interior. There are 15 adjustment holes on the end that tapers to a point. On the opposite end is a stitched design, brass fittings and a buckle with "JAY-PEE" embossed on the front. There are two leather rings, one with a snap closure and the other with brass buckle. Attached to this brass buckle is metal sword hanger chain with a clasp at the end. Embossed on this chain is, "DEFENDER/RUST PROOF/ARMED FORCE/EQUIPMENT/NEWYORK/MEYER/WEST GERMANY". It has two brass "D" rings for the shoulder strap. Handwritten on the back, in black ink is, "Howard".|
|Notes||This collection belonged to Frederick Fabian Howard, Jr., the donor's son. Howard was a member of the Kentucky Military Institute (KMI) class of 1972. The 1972 class was the last KMI class.|
