Description This is a sieve-type object. It has an open bottom. Half of the top is covered by tin soldered to the edge. There are eight circular holes around the lower part of the cone. Between two of the holes is soldered a tin, which is pierced with multiple tiny holes to give the tube a strainer effect.
Notes The University of Kentucky began collecting in 1957 for the Kentucky Life Museum, an endeavor to "provide a permanent place for the hundreds of articles that have had a bearing upon the way people in Kentucky lived and worked..." Eventually, Waveland entered the Kentucky State Park System and was reinterpreted as a house museum. These artifacts were transfered as part of that reinterpretation.
