Description This is a Chromolithography of a Glossy Ibis by J. J. Audubon from the Bien Edition of "Birds of America." The Image contains a crouching green blue and brown waterfoul with a long beak and long blue legs bending on the river bank. Across the stream on the other bank appears to be a log cabin, a fence and outbuildings. There are bright blue and yellow flowers on tall plants and grasses behind the bird. The top left corner reads "No. 13-2" and the top right corner reads "PLATE 358." The bottom Left reads "Drawn from Nature by J. J. Audubon, F,R,S.F,L,S." and the bottom right reads "Chromolithy by J. Bien, New York 1860." The bottom middle legend reads "Glossy Ibis./Ibis Falcinellus./ Male Adult." There are two signatures signed in faded brown ink on the back. These two signatures read "Bart A. Brown" and "Nina M. Visscher."
Notes Audubon was born in 1785 and died in 1851. Bien was born in 1826 and died in 1909. T
