Description This Wright and Taylor whiskey bottle is brown molded glass. The piece is a squat and cylindrical spirits bottle with a long neck. It has an embossed inscription on the front and back. The bottle has an embossed makers mark on the bottom.
Notes Wright & Taylor Distillers are listed in the Louisville directories between 1886 and 1919 at several different addresses. According to an article "Bottle Typing/Diagnostic Shapes" (see research library in Registrar's office) squat cylindrical spirit bottles were made as late as 1910. The American Bottle Company (makers of this bottle) were operating in Chicago and using the mark on the base of this bottle between 1905 and 1916.
