Description This is a print based by the Heyback Bush Co. depicting a group of men standing outside Kentucky's Old State Capitol and Annex building following the assassination of Governor Goebel. The lower right corner of the print says, "Heyback Bush Co. Louisville Ky." The captions below the print says, "Taylor's soldiers barring the Legislature out of the State House the morning after Goebel was shot down by the assassin, his object being to prevent the Legislature from formally declaring Goebel the Governor before the hand of death was laid upon him. -From a snap shot by Wolf, Photographer, Frankfort." In the lower left corner, the is an oval-shaped union label.
