Description This is a white silk ribbon that was created for the 1899 gubernatorial campaign of William Goebel. The top edge of the ribbon has been wrapped around and glued to a metal T-shaped stick pin on the back. The ribbon has purple printed images that depict a draped American Flag motif at the top and a portrait of William Goebel in the middle. The inscription on the ribbon reads, "FOR / Governor / Very Truly~ / William Goebel". The top two lines of text appear in a printed style while the bottom two lines mimic Goebel's handwriting and signature. The sides of the ribbon are the selvages and the bottom is unfinished.
