Description This chromolithograph on paper is of the Hooded Warbler and Green Black-Capt Flycatcher from the Bien Edition of Audubon's Birds of America. The image on the left is of the Hooded Warbler. No.13-5, Plate 71. It depicts two green and yellow birds that are perched upon a couple of green plants. One plant has bluebells on it while the other plant has yellow pods. The legend at the bottom reads: "Drawn from Nature by J.J. Audubon, F,R,S. F,L,S. / Hooded Warbler / Sylvia Mitrata. / Male 1. Female 2." The image on the right is of the Green Black-Capt Flycatcher. No. 13-6, Plate 75. It depicts two yellow and green birds that are settled on a leafy plant that has white blooms. The legend at the bottom reads: "Chromolithy. by J. Bien, New York 1860 / Green Black-capt Flycatcher, Muscicapa Wilsonii. Male, 1. Female, 2. Snakeshead Chelone glabra E." There are two signatures on the back in ink that read: "Bart A. Brown" and "Nina M. Visscher".
Notes Audubon was born in 1785 and died in 1851. Bien was born in 1826 and died in 1909. T
