Description This is a commemorative medal which was created to celebrate the inauguration of Benjamin Harrison on March 4, 1889. There is a small hole located at the top center of the medal. The front of the medal has a portrait of Benjamin Harrison facing the proper right with the words "BENJAMIN HARRISON" arching around the edge. The medal has a beaded border along the edge. The reverse of the medal depicts an American eagle holding a spear with the American flag draped across it. In the eagle's beak is a banner which reads, "E PLURIBUS UNUM." On either side of the eagle there is a star. Encircling the entire image is the inscription, "INAUGURATION / MARCH 4, 1889."
