The Kentucky Railway Museum has the Kentucky 40 & 8 car, part of 50 such cars sent to the US after WWII as thanks from the people of France (the Merci Train) for all America did to assist them during the War and for the sacrifices of American soldiers from WWI and WWII who liberated France. The 40&8 cars were filled with gifts from the people of France and sent to the US. There were 50 cars one for each State and one for the District of Columbia and the US Territories.
