Description This grooving plane has a beechwood stock with an enclosed handle at the heel. There is a shelf on the left side. There are two parallel iron plates screwed to the stock with hand cut screws. One to the fixed depth stop fence and the other is a "steel sole" which runs parallel to the iron and has a shaving outlet around the iron.
Notes Collected by the donor over the last 30 years from barns, storage sheds, and antique stores in north central Kentucky and probably southern Indiana and Ohio as well. Used to cut a narrow rectangular groove, usually for a tongue and groove join; matched to 1993.8.236
