Description This is a circular political button, produced by lithographic process, for Bill Stansbury during his Louisville mayoral campaign in the early 1970's. It has a yellow background and the following slogan, "Stansbury for Mayor", in red script. The following inscription is located on the side, "Paid for by the Stansbury for Mayor Committee William S. Haynes Treasurer", in red script. It has a stickpin on the reverse side.
Notes William Brown Stansbury (March 18, 1923 – April 4, 1985) was a lawyer and politician who held the office of the Mayor of Louisville, Kentucky from 1977 to 1982. The donor worked in the local presidential campaigns of Republican Nelson Rockefeller in 1964 and Democrat Eugene McCarthy in 1968 in Louisville.
