Description This painting was painted by Paul Sawyier around 1900 and is called "The Punch Bowl" or "Punch Bowl Benson Creek." This watercolor depicts Benson Creek in Frankfort, Kentucky. On the left side it has trees along the shoreline following the creek and it moves around the bend in the middle of the painting. In the background there is more trees following the creek as it moves through the land. In the right foreground is a rock ledge going down to water's edge with some large rocks and a shore in front of the rock ledge. There are also trees on top of the rock ledge and one larger tree at the bottom of the ledge that goes up past it with a branch sticking out from the tree at the top of the painting. The sky is at the top of the painting in a white color and the creek is at the bottom with blue paint at the left and fades to almost white in the middle.
