Description This wooden chain was originally carved from a single piece of walnut but a link has broken creating two parts. Part A is the longer piece. It begins with a working pair of edge cutting pliers that have links attached to each handle. There are seven oval links that connect one handle to a heart shaped link on one side and six links (one link missing) that used to attach the other handle to the same heart link. The heart shaped link has an acorn base that is attached to a cage link. That link connects to nine oval links with squared edges. Those links attach to an acorn shaped connector that ends in a cage. The cage terminates in another bullet shaped connector in another gothic arched cage. From that cage there are nine large oval links. Those links terminate in another connector with a bullet shaped end in a more elaborate gothic cage with steeples. This cage is connected to nine more oval links that terminate in a bullet shaped connector in a gothic style cage. This cage has one curly oval link and there are an undetermined amount of missing links. Part B is the shorter piece. It begins with a single curly oval link connected to a cage with a ball shaped end. That cage has another ball shaped connector at the other end that is attached to eight oval links with squared sides. Those links terminate with an acorn connector in a cage. That cage is connected to eight round links that terminate in a fob. The fob has "AJS" carved on one side and "1876" carved on the other.
