Description This is an award certificate for Ben C. Milam and son. It is an engraving which features a monument in the center surrounded by figures in Greek garb and posture. There is a mother suckling a baby, a farmer/husband leaning over her shoulder, a seated Adonis holding hammer and tongs, three cherubim, a man holding a parchment, and a seated woman reading a book.
Notes Ben C. Milam was a pioneering manufacturer of hand-crafted fishing reels which won awards at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893 and numerous other comeptions including France. His son John Milam joined the business.
